This place comes with a big reputation and it did not disappoint. As an ex baker who has eaten more than his fair share of pastries I feel highly qualified to pass on my recommendation.

We visited on a Sunday morning so naturally the place was very busy. The line was out of the shop and down the road but we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we got to the counter.

I had already chosen what o was going to have before we arrived. We went for tow of the most popular items made here, the chocolate croissant and the cube croissant filled with pistachio cream.
I reluctantly agreed to share my croissant with Gill, a decision I regretted after just one bite.

Both pastries were delicious, I’d go back there anytime that I find myself in Copenhagen again and would highly recommended trying them if you are in town.

I ordered a coffee almost as an after thought but was blown away with how good it was. By far the best coffee that I had in Copenhagen and worth going there just for that to be honest.

The staff were super friendly and clearly enjoy working there.
Overall a very good experience, keep up the good work guys.

This is our number ONE in Cph. During our stay we had been there twice. Their breakfast is top quality, especially the egg! Whatever we ate was so delicious: breakfast, cheesecake, other pastries... People working there are kind, helpful and effective. We were lucky that each time we found seating but mind that this is a popular place. Recommending strongly!!! 👌👌👌

Delicious bread, croissants and coffee - no doubt! The space is modern, minimalist Nordic and there's an air of attention to detail in all aspects of the food and drink served. The croissants sells as hot cakes (pun intended), and not without reason! The signature espresso croissant is fantastic and you can count the layers (if you can fight the urge to just eat it already, Brenda).

However, Andersen & Maillard also suffers from a cool Nordic attitude you often find among Danes in the service industry. Although the attitude is honest, our breakfast (two slices of sourdough bread with fresh butter and cheese) took 20 minutes to arrive at our table, with one plate missing. Despite asking for it, the waiter didn't return with the remaining plate. We only got it after asking the (very nice) barista at the bar, another 10 minutes later - without as much as a brief apology, smile or care for the customer from the waiter. The air of je-ne-care-pas was striking among the most of the staff, despite working with great products (and in a place you will most definitely, casually mention to your friends you work at. I'm not saying it's a big deal, but I'm not saying it isn't.)

For this reason, Andersen & Maillard's delicious croissant-restaurant gets only 3 stars, and not perhaps the deserving 4,5 from this Copenhagener.

This is the place to go to indulge in perfect Danish pastries! Everything we tried was outstanding. The coffee is also good, they roast it themselves. Service was super friendly, the place inside is spacious, industrial design, nice also for working. A must visit!

Good pastries, liked the sourdough with cheese for brekky. The cube croissant was really sweet and general pastries more expensive, but that's what instagrammable forces you. Tall tables are good for working on devices.

Very nice coffeeshop and bakery , plenty of good options , nice service .
The only reason i gave 1 start in atmosphere thats , alot of people sitting either waiting as they are turist maybe waiting for their trip, or working with computer , for you as a real guest for dining you may be 70% cant find place to sit and eat , and i think this might be changed by offering 1,5 hours in popular time and 2 after noon, you cant sit for hours and you are doing nothing only looking at your phone , which usually is the case

Super nice café with delicious breads and sweets. Great for working or just having a coffee - which is really good, by the way.

-Mid tea, just a small cup, 42kr - overpriced.
-Mid carrot cake (barely carrot cake), overpriced
-Stressful service, dysphoric vibe
-You have 5 seconds to look at the small menu and think up your whole order
-They don't listen and stare back offended for you to repeat it
-Piled up dishes, no space for people to return them (this honestly incentives just leaving them at the tables)
-Intense negative vibe, there should be a visitor limit - if not for atmosphere then for safety!
-Confusing layout to find anything
-Hectic system for making and calling out drink orders
-Too loud music & too warm inside.
-Quite understaffed
-Probably very hard for the staff too, need better management and more people working perhaps!

But the bathrooms were good, it was clean and pretty, and many of the problems are explicable by a heavy crowd of visitors - but should be managed for a serious business operating in a large city.

Great bakery with an even better vibe - the selection of coffee and bread/pastries is amazing and tasty. Love the different creations, especially the espresso croissant (a little on the sweet side) and the sourdough buns with pepper!
The place roast their own beans in the light way that you know from the new wave of danish coffee places giving the coffee a lot of different taste notes. The mentioned croissants are light and crunchy and they do different varieties (espresso, chocolate and more).
Really enjoyed the vibe, it seemed like lots of creative people, designers, marketers were in there working on their laptops and the smooth chill hip hop music was a perfect addition.

Delicious selection of pastries! But don't expect large supplies in the afternoon, especially in the weekend. Coffee was also good. There's a nice vibe inside, people working or chilling. Minimalistic design and setup, it makes you feel like you just want to relax and take it easy.

Lily Huang28.11.2025

We visited here for breakfast and it surprised us with the quality of the foods and the comfortable place where you can spend the whole afternoon with free laptop chargers and unlimited free water.

Anh NQ28.11.2025

Love the cosy vibes. The cafe is quite trendy, quite a lot of youngish people. It’s possible to work with laptop here. Ok-ish for a digital nomad 😅

Stefano Di Vittorio28.11.2025

This place is heavenly. They have amazing pastries and very good coffee. I had a flat white, cube croissant filled with pistachio cream and pepper & salt sourdough bread sandwich. They all tasted perfect! The croissant is definitely a piece of art. You can get your laptop and study or just hang out by yourself for hours in this lovely place.

Nicola Volpi28.11.2025

Coffee is good, wifi is fast. Problem is you have to wear your winter jacket inside because the personnel insists on keeping 90% of the windows and 50% of the doors open. Drink your 5euro coffee fast, it will freeze!

Yan Cheng28.11.2025

One of the best cafes in Copenhagen. Very popular, but you are allowed to sit with your laptop. Opening hours seem different from Google map sometimes… the popular pastries sold out quickly, so better go earlier during the day

Alexis Roger28.11.2025

Had a great flat white and a pastry, staff is open and ambiance is to chit chat ! They roast their own coffee, and makes food as well. Free wifi

Josephine Mindel28.11.2025

A wonderful wide open coffee shop with a roastery and great coffee! This place is slightly hidden so it is not very touristy which is really nice. There are always pretty latte art designs on the hot drinks and they make a mean cappuccino! Also a good place to get work done on a laptop and with free open wifi, it's more than ideal.
