Decent coffee and pastry at a great price point. Clean and bright environment with many power plugs for laptops. Didn't feel pressured working there before my appointment in the area.
Greatest bonus! Amazing gelato by Master James. Texture is perfectly smooth.
Came here for their matcha latte which many friends said it would meet my standards. They weren’t wrong and it honestly makes it into the top 3 matchas in Vancouver for me. The flavour and color was on point. For me I might ask them to do a bit less sweetener so I can taste the matcha more.
I also tried the Basque Matcha Cheesecake which was something I can see myself getting regularly.
The space is pretty spacious and clean for the most part for being such a high traffic cafe in broadway.
My only peeve would be maybe have a time limit on laptop uses or maybe reserve laptop usage to only a portion of the cafe ?
The big bonus point for being open till 11PM as well for all of us that wanted another late night option besides Breka for a coffee/matcha/pastry.
I have been here in the morning for 3 days now because they open around the holidays. While the environment and food are decent, I feel bad for the main server. She works the entire cafe all by herself while three of her other colleagues just stand there doing other random non-related tasks (making sandwiches for later, etc.). Everyday there is a long line of people waiting because of how inefficient this cafe is. Average wait time is over 17-20minutes just for a pastry and coffee. They are going to lose many customers who are on their way to work in the area. Poor management by the owner. Sadly, Will not comeback again.

Great place to study. The ambiance is perfect for focusing on work, and the hojicha latte is delicious. The patries are also quite good.
Finally popped into AVIK this morning and had the chance to speak to the owner Nick! This cafe has such a lovely vibe to it and delicious pastries and tasty drinks. I will definitely be back and I am so happy to have a local cafe to support!! Keep it up AVIK! 🫶

Cons: Latte was underwhelming (bitter, weak) and the pastry case didn't inspire confidence (croissants were flat and showed no lamination). Pros: The people working there are friendly.
