P.S since it' 21st century, you have a wifi on the spot, so while you drinking whatever U like, you can make plans for next "to go" location.
Hübsches, interessantes Retrocafe. Aber die Katzen liefen über Tische und Möbel und hinterließen überall Haare. Während des Essens sprang eine Katze auf den Tisch und ging an das Essen. Ich bin zwar ein Tierfreund, aber das war unhygienisch und mir verging der Appetit. Die Bedienung gab sich keinerlei Mühe. Man musste mehrfach nach dem wifi-Passwort fragen. Es war fast so als würde man die Bedienung mit seiner Anwesenheit stören.
I visited Cafe Naftalin while exploring Balat. The staff was welcoming, and I ordered Mardin coffee, which is from my hometown. It's Turkish coffee blended with cinnamon, cardamom and gum mastic, and I was so happy to drink something from my heritage. The prices were affordable.
And of course, the cats make the experience amazing if you are a cat lover like me. They stayed next to my laptop while I worked, so if you are a digital nomad, it's your place to go.
The view is good, you can see the little shops in Balat.
