About Cheder
About
Cheder is a unique café and cultural meeting place closely connected to the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow. Situated in a location rich in history, Cheder occupies a restored building that once housed a Jewish prayer room established in 1890. Revitalized in 2008, Cheder now serves as a 'house of culture,' hosting concerts, workshops, lectures, and more throughout the year. The café bridges Jewish traditions with today’s culture from Israel and the Diaspora, offering an open and inspirational ambiance. Guests can enjoy high-quality food and drinks, as well as engage with a vibrant cultural program. Cheder is especially appealing for students and culture enthusiasts seeking an inspiring place to work, meet, and connect.
Food
Cheder features a diverse range of vegetarian and vegan seasonal dishes inspired by Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine. The café is renowned for serving what is described as the best hummus in town. The menu changes according to the seasons, offering fresh and innovative options that reflect the richness of Jewish cuisine. Whether you are vegetarian, vegan, or simply enjoy exploring new flavors, Cheder’s food selection presents exciting and regularly varied choices to satisfy different tastes.
Coffee & Drinks
Cheder places great emphasis on high-quality beverages. Its signature offering is coffee prepared in a Findżan—the original Israeli coffee pot—delivering an authentic Israeli experience. In addition, the café serves a variety of teas with fresh mint, complementing the drink menu with unique and refreshing flavors. The selection aims to merge traditional and contemporary aspects of Jewish and Middle Eastern drinking culture, allowing guests to enjoy both aromatic coffee specialties and invigorating teas.

Had a Finjan coffee and a sesame bread. The service was really good and the guy working there was very attentive and friendly. The coffee and bread were very good too. The atmosphere was very quiet but that was a nice thing to get away from walking round the city amongst the crowd.
Nice place with wifi)
Great food and service. Roiboos espresso is a must! Great for chilling out and working during weekdays :)
A cosy cafe with Middle Eastern coffee and food. Great for working or studying. They also have finjan coffee and small tables sit on the floor and enjoy your coffee
Friendly place with nice athmosphere, though seems that service is working not in their full potential.
Would recommend cardamon coffee, but it is not a bahlava place at all.
I would like to visit again.
Nice atmosphere and food/drinks, comfortable chairs, and...wifi that works! Best cafe for working for a couple hours I've been to in Krakow so far.
Very cozy café lined with books. It is dimly lit and plays soft music. I found it perfect for a focused afternoon of work on my laptop. The rose Baklava is delicious!
They open at 10, but kitchen working from 11 😕 came for breakfast, and got nothing
Favorite spot in Krakow. Great place to chill and read a book or work on your laptop. Nice variety of drinks and snacks.
Very nice spot in the Jewish Quarter with good wifi and a number of power sockets. Service is friendly. I had the Fox in Joffee iced tea and it was too bitter but they quickly provided some syrup to sweeten it for me
