The waiters were very polite, service was fast, very cosy with amazing music and fast free wifi.
The café itself is a gem, up a small street the interior and partially covered garden is like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is modern, with a chilled vibe; great as a co-working space for digital nomads or simply for a coffee and some food with friends.
Lost for something to do with an afternoon I booked a traditional stained glass painting workshop on a whim through Get your Guide which led me to the café. I’m so glad I did. It truly was the highlight of my trip to Istanbul. The class itself is great but the people make it exceptional. Ali (who owns the café), helped me to the venue, he was incredibly friendly and was more than happy to offer advice on hidden gems in the city, as well as good conversation. I struggle with Turkish but he took time to teach me some basic phrases and gave me a card to remember them.
Eda ran the class. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Istanbul and the art of stained glass, which gave context to the activity. She was always on hand to help, and was incredibly welcoming. Even if you’re a novice like me, Eda made the workshop incredibly accessible with some beautifully drawn templates to used if wished. Both Eda and Ali made me feel like part of the family. The tea and biscuites flowed throughout the session and there were lots of laughs. I came away with a new skill, a broad smile, and a great souvenir.
I’ll defiantly be back (sooner rather than later). The café also runs mosaic lamp workshops and a Turkish coffee/fortune telling workshop, all for very reasonable prices and run by professional artisans. I managed to see the end of a lantern workshop before mine began and the makes looked beautiful.
If you’re in Istanbul, I would really recommend visiting this café, if not for a workshop, at least for some food and drink. Most people stay around the European side but the Asian side is only one stop on the train and offers so much more. This is a must go to stop for any visitor to the city.
Amazing vibe and ambiance.
Brownies were perfect.
Trendy and vibrant setting - picturesque and great for conversations and working.
Excellent service.
It was such a great experience for the kids to make Turkish lamp!! Big thanks to Asis who stayed longer to provide a workshop for us!! Such a great hospitality. The workshop is working till 18:00 so be aware of it. Also try to book it in advance via tourist platform such as trip adviser.
We saw the reviews and wanted to visit. However when coming here we felt very unwelcome. No one attended to us for 30 minutes, I had to go to someone to ask for coffee. Also the room at the front is very cold. The cafe itself is very nice, very retro and vintage feel. Lots of young people and definitely a place good for working. But the service wasn’t good. Wouldn’t come again.
