My main issue - terrible waiting time. Was there at 11:30 on Friday, about three tables were taken, and had to wait an hour for a breakfast menu item. It was a shoking waste of time. Also, in all that time nobody cleaned the dirty dishes on the neighboring tables. As I understand, the was only one person working all jobs. Another waitress turned up as we were leaving. Maybe it was a one-time thing, or maybe they're just generally understaffed, but I wouldn't recommend the place after my experience.
Food-wise the place is fine. I had an omelet with mushrooms and cheese - was good, nothing fancy, but well-cooked. Came with a salad, which was great, and toast, which was simple toaster bread. Coffee is also good.
I liked the black bread sandwich with salmon and eggs.
There was only one person working who spoke Estonian, English and Russian perfectly, he was the waiter and cook, despite this he was fast, efficient and attentive to all the clients having breakfast, I found this impressive
We were wondering around the area as another restaurant didn't have space for our biggish group.
We were incredibly surprised how well we were taken care of. There was only one person working and he made it look easy to make all the food we got. The food was top notch and our group had a pleasant time. We shared the opinion as a group that the food was a tier above around the other restaurants with great reviews around the central area. I recommend taking the eggs benedict or omelette, they were amazing. The sizes were quite large, so be careful with that! (who wouldn't like that?)
I spent about 6 days in Tallinn, and this restaurant elevated what was already an amazing experience tenfold. At first, I didn’t think much of it — the food was excellent, the ambiance lovely, but I thought it was just another great spot.
Then something unexpected happened.
The same person who greeted me, took my order, and brought my drink... went into the kitchen, cooked my food, and served it to me. I was flabbergasted.
As someone who worked in restaurants for over 7 years, I tried to process what I was seeing through a professional lens. When I finished my appetizer and received my main dish, I asked the host/waiter/chef if he was working alone — and he confirmed it. I asked how that was even possible. He smiled and said, “Estonian people are patient.”
I stayed a bit longer, chatted with him, and discovered he’s not only incredibly skilled, but also kind, funny, and easy to talk to. I left with such a strong positive impression that I came back two more times during my stay — and each time, it was just as fantastic.
Chef’s kiss to the chef. This was truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tallinn.
Such a fabulous food find in Tallinn. The man there was working so hard- pleasant, funny and a fantastic cook. All of the food was excellent- taste and presentation. Would recommend to anyone.
An excellent place.
Visiting quite often because the food is amazing, specially for these prices.
Many thanks to Owner / Cheif for cozy atmosphere and hospitality and god like pumpkin soup !
Yeah, you can wait for your dish a bit longer then in some other places, but it will pay you back with a double price.
Strongly advice to visit with friends / family or just get a laptop and work there in quite with tasty tea or coffee.
