Though a bit off the beaten path, Kanmu is worth the extra effort. The shady garden has great vibe, cool breeze and comfortable seating. Though the price for a cappuccino is higher than you'll find elsewhere, the quality is excellent.
I found the ordering process confusing as there is no menu and you're given a lot of options from someone likely to have limited English speaking skills. I'm also not a fan of pager pick ups, especially in a crowded cafe where you risk giving up your seat simply to get your order.
As to the crowd, it looks to be mostly affluent and college-age locals which, makes sense, as the wifi is strong and fast at 47mbps.
