The assortment includes options such as the Paper Mill Espresso, a blend with 65% Brazil beans (Cachoeira Da Grama, Mogiana) and 35% Ethiopia beans (Magarissa Refisa, Nensebo), processed pulped natural and washed, featuring tasting notes of hazelnut, brown sugar, pear, and green apple. Other coffees available are Las Brisas Colombia Filter (Pink Bourbon, anaerobic natural process, sweet berry jam notes, sparkling acidity), Danche Ethiopia Filter (Heirloom, washed, with flavors of Earl Grey and physalis), Decaf Excelso Colombia (decaffeinated via Swiss Water Process, with notes of caramel, hazelnut, and lemon acidity), and Lighthouse Espresso (sweet chocolatey, cherry, and apricot tones). We stopped in here before catching our bus to Riga, and it was a perfect end to an awesome visit to Tallinn. I had an iced oat milk flat white and took advantage of their spacious cafe and free wifi to pass the time before our departure. The baristas were both kind and spoke great English, making it very easy for me as a tourist to get my caffeine fix. Don't miss this spot if you are in the area!
1 | When it comes to coffee quality and café atmosphere, I’m pretty demanding. I’ve visited dozens of places, and not much impresses me anymore. Paper Mill, however, is excellent. The coffee had a bold flavor, the oat flat white was outstanding, and this café is truly top-tier.
2 | They offer a great selection of sweets to go with your coffee. During our visit, they had donuts, croissants, brownies, and savory options like focaccia on the counter.
3 | Prices match the high quality. Espresso, macchiato, and cortado are €3.80, cappuccino, latte, and flat white are €4.30, and a V60 costs €4.80. Information about the beans is available at the counter. An extra shot is €0.50, and oat milk is an additional €0.30.
4 | Card payments are accepted.
5 | There are plenty of tables, and it’s a good place to work on a laptop. Downstairs, there’s bar seating by the window with a nice view, while upstairs has larger tables, a quieter atmosphere, and a better setup for working.
6 | If you get a loyalty card and collect stamps, every seventh coffee is free.
Amazing coffee and service. Great location and atmosphere. Very knowledgeable baristas with great English who are excited to show you the coffee they have. Spacious and good wifi as well.
My favorite third-wave coffee spot in Tallinn
The friendliest baristas work at papermill 🥰
When you ask coffee-lovers where to get the best cuppa in Tallinn, most will immediately answer Papermill.
Their coffee is consistently good, created with love and you can tell the staff are genuinely passionate about their brand and the coffee they make.
This is their original café where they still roast their beans. It's quite spacious with different seating options.
My favourite is the high counter next to the window (great for people watching and working).
I visit often and am always impressed by the friendly staff (a rarity in Tallinn) and the always-good coffee.
P.S. Make sure to get a loyalty card, every 8th coffee is free!
This is the wonderful place when you can find real high quality coffee. Amazing people are working there.
Lovely place. Great for working.
