Schauberger Coffee
🇮🇩 Kabupaten GianyarAbout Schauberger Coffee
About
Schauberger Coffee is a distinctive café located in Penestanan Kaja, Ubud, built around the philosophy of understanding and imitating the principles of nature. Inspired by the Austrian naturalist Viktor Schauberger, the café embodies a deep commitment to sustainability and plant-based living—every item, from drinks to pastries, is entirely free of animal products. The atmosphere is intentional, minimalist, and focused, creating a welcoming space for learning, exchange, and community. Compostable cups, eco-friendly roasting, and a close-knit club culture for regulars are as much part of Schauberger Coffee as its varied events, hands-on courses, and the in-house podcast studio. The café positions itself as a place of continuous growth, not just in terms of offerings and technology, but also through ongoing staff development. Schauberger Coffee is therefore not just about exceptional coffee—it’s a hub for collaboration, education, and a community built around shared values.
Food
The entire food selection at Schauberger Coffee is 100% plant-based. Notable highlights include plant-based pastries and sushi, particularly served during the Sensatorium 42 evening lounge. Members receive a birthday pastry, and upcoming events like the Schauberger BBQ Nights will feature a plant-based grill. The culinary concept strictly avoids all animal products, focusing instead on sustainability and continuous innovation. While specific daily offerings are not enumerated, it is clear that every food item—from pastries to main dishes—is fully plant-based, making it consistent with the café's core values.
Coffee & Drinks
The beverage selection at Schauberger Coffee focuses on high-quality, plant-based coffee and innovative specialties. Beans are hand-roasted and prepared exclusively on a Victoria Arduino Athena Leva lever espresso machine—ensuring uncompromising quality and craftsmanship. In addition to classic coffee drinks, the café features nootropic mushroom lattes made with reishi, cordyceps, and lion’s mane, designed to provide relaxation, focus, or energy. Dairy milk or other animal products are never used; instead, oat, almond, and coconut milks are offered. All takeaway drinks come in compostable cups. There’s also the option to take home house drip bags or 100g packs of beans, supporting a sustainable and conscious coffee experience.

Love sitting here and having a matcha in the morning. Great atmosphere for a casual coffee meet up (and maybe a pastry) with friends. Great place to do a spot of work.
Amazing coffee shop! Great for working&wifi. The staff really make the whole experience, great hosts who make you feel welcome. And, of course, excellent coffee. Possible to order food from healthyUbud and dine at the coffee shop. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area (or certainly worth the journey)
Fabulous place with fantastic coffee and friendly staff. We made friends with Abelle, she was very communicative ❤️🙌🏾
But the only thing is that I would advise the owner to put their own wifi router in their cafe, so the wifi works better and people could come and co-work here 🙏
Kadek was the sweetest girl ever! I have very high standards for coffee and this is the best coffee in Ubud. They have amazing desserts too. I love that they are open at 6am so I can grab one before a yoga class. You must go here! Also great wifi so very easy to work.
