NO FREE wifi
The atmosphere is nice but I find it weird that you only get the wifi password after a purchase when even Mcdonalds has free wifi. Spent $2.71 of some mid pure life water when I can buy 2 gallons of spring water at H‑E‑B. What’s the point especially when the drinks and food are mid😕
This is a good place to get work done, but if you need a place on the quiet side, this is not it.
Cute, great atmosphere, relaxed… yummy coffee ! Great place to do some work, relax and or shop! Inside “Ironworks”.
Another cozy cute coffee shop in EaDo. Perfect place to get work done, studying done, or just hang out. It is inside the Ironworks building with a few other businesses (nail shop, real estate, tattoo shop). The customer service was excellent, the barista even made it easy for me to get some content of her making my matcha latte that was delicious btw! There is a parking lot right next to the building that has plenty of parks!
This place is awesome to go and do some work. They have a little coffee shop and they can add CBD products. Of course, there are other little shops there with really cool finds. It is a cool mini container shopping center. Décor is modern and industrial.
A gorgeous place to eat, work, and shop. Came when the top stairs wasn't open so a bit disappointed at that but it looks so beautiful and stunning inside. The vintage shops and boutiques are filled with friendly and artistic people.
This place has great vibes for studying or getting work done on your laptop. The coffee and food tasted great though the coffee was lukewarm and you could tell the pastries weren’t as fresh as they could be if we had gotten there at the beginning of the day.
great customer service, very friendly, and fast wifi!
Great place to work/study. Good coffee and the salsa velde is fire. I'll be making this my new work spot.
The owners are friends and hard working people. Love the atmosphere and friendly staff. Beautiful iron works location.
You need a minute to relax and work with a good cup of coffee go here!!!! You can also shop in the Mercadito!!!!!
It’s a nice place to meet up with friends or finish some work while having a good cup of coffee and some snacks, avocado toast is so good. It’s a busy place somehow.
Amazing place! Had no idea the iron works building that it's in even existed. Tiny coffee place located inside a cooler local goods complex. Got the candy corn latte and pumpkin spice latte. The candy corn latte was pretty sweet which I enjoyed as the cool whipped cream offset the warm drink well. It also came with 3 candy corns! The PSL was not overly sweet for those who like drinks less sweet. Lots of original drinks on the menu. The cranberry scone also had way less sugar than other coffee shops which I enjoyed. Great place!
Great Space! Enjoyed the ambiance and staff was nice! And wifi was good!
Cold brew was very good. $5 and some change (+$1 for cream when my bf asked for it), which is fine as I've paid more for worse coffee. (Having prices on the menu would be lovely)
I would not plan to do any work here though, the wifi situation is kinda dismal. Took a half hour to get a custom pw then through all the extra levels of authentication before finding out the signal was too weak to connect to my VPN. All of this to ensure a 6 hour wifi time limit which makes that whole process feel even more silly.
Segundo got some great coffee and pastries! Very spacious and lots of tables for you to sit down and cram your studies. On my recent visit, however, their wifi was spotty for me. I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be during my visit to Segundo since their wifi was on and off frequently on all my devices. Hopefully this is not a recurring issue. Other than that, Segundo is solid!
Other notes:
- there's a free parking lot adjacent to the warehouse that the coffee shop resides in
- not all tables have an outlet nearby. If you're planning to study in Segundo with the intention of staying a long time, be sure to come earlier to secure the tables with outlets.
Nancy at the register is rude, I asked for my receipt for the wifi she gave me the wrong receipt and then when she gave me the receipt it was someone else’s order. . I asked for my order in a to go cup , she gave it to me in a glass cup. . And my drink she made it wrong as well. . The chai was gross . . Def don’t recommend
Came here after seeing it during searches for coffee shops nearby. I finally came after also seeing it on the Latin Restuarant Week for Houston.
It's a large coffeehouse inside of a renovated warehouse in the historic 2nd Ward/EaDo. The place is Latina owned which is what initially drew me here. After coming, I have zero regrets!
First of all, this place is massive. On the first floor they have at least 20-30 tables that each sit multiple people. A good number of them are near outlets and no one was fighting over them. There's also a CBD shop on the first floor. On the second floor there are some boutiques stocked with work from local artists and creators (like @cargovintagehouston on ig).
I asked if they had a special for the Latin Restaurant Week and they pointed me to the Mexican Torta and La Mexicana Latte. I went with the latte, a honey, cinnamon, and vanilla mix. It was fantastic. One of the best drinks I've had from coffee shops.
workers were nice. wifi is reliable. Ambience was cool and perfect for just about any situation.
I will definitely be back and will try their food at some point!
